The Beep Small Engine Repair Skills certification checks whether you can service the small petrol engines people depend on every day: generators, water pumps, grass cutters, lawn mowers and outboard motors. It starts with fuel, including two-stroke mixing and stale fuel in stored engines, and safe spark testing.
It also covers the faults customers bring in, such as a generator that shuts down on low oil, a blocked fuel cap vent, a recoil starter that will not rewind, a sheared flywheel key after a blade strike, a pump that needs priming and an outboard with no cooling water stream, plus safety rules like removing the plug lead and never running a generator indoors.
The assessment takes about 7 minutes, is auto-scored, and produces a certificate with a unique verifiable ID you can share with a customer or shop owner. Beep is backed by Google for Startups, Microsoft for Startups and AWS, with over 100,000 people certified across 300+ fields.
