Is this a crane operator licence or a BOCW competency certificate?
No. This is Beep's own knowledge assessment, issued and assessed by Beep only. It is not a crane operator licence, a BOCW competency certificate or a third-party lifting certificate, and has no affiliation with any government body, inspection agency, NSDC, sector skill council or crane brand. It does not authorise you to operate a crane.
Does it test operating a crane or only rigging?
Both at fundamentals level: set-up, load charts and signals for the operator, and slings, hitches and load control for the rigger. It is a knowledge test, not a practical driving test.
How is this different from the Fire & Industrial Safety Officer certification on Beep?
That certification covers fire, permits and general plant safety. This one is only about planning and making safe lifts with cranes and lifting gear.
